Welcome to the Art of Illumination community! We are excited that you are interested in being part of a collective that will share and collaborate with other practitioners. The Art of Illumination was launched by on January 27, 2008 with the City of Olympia in Washington by Mark Shimada. Mark shared his entire design in the spring of 2009. It is his wish that we all benefit and learn about how the individual is inspired through the experience of "collective virtuosity." If you utilize any of the materials, we would only ask that you also take a few moments to share your learnings and contributions for others to benefit.
